— Finnish star duo for the first time in Norway.
It's not often that one of Finland's most sought-after cellists makes the trip to Norway. In April we were lucky enough to experience Senja Rummukainen in University Aula , and now she finally arrives Ramme In collaboration with pianist Ossi Tanner, who is praised by critics for his poetic, rich and lyrical playing, they give us a programme filled with Finnish power and fervor.
The program is wide-ranging: Debussy's cello sonata is concise and witty with abrupt changes, while Sibelius ' short pieces from op. 77 have a quiet and almost devotional calm. Brahms ' sonata in E minor is considered one of the undisputed highlights of cello literature, and is the dark and passionate main work of this concert.
In the middle of it all we find composer, pianist and conductor Olli Mustonen's charismatic and very popular cello sonata from 2006. We will also get to know Mustonen better when he himself plays with the Engegård Quartet with us this autumn. But first: Finnish, young finesse in Havlystparken. Welcome!

Senja Rummukainen is considered one of the most internationally significant cellists of her generation. After winning the Turku Cello Competition in 2014 and reaching the final of the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, she has performed as a soloist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic, among others, and she made her debut at the BBC Proms in 2024. Göteborgs-Posten has described her as "a fantastic cellist". In 2026, she was awarded a scholarship from the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust.
Ossi Tanner has been almost unanimously hailed by critics as a “piano poet”. Since winning the Tampere Competition in 2017, he has played as a soloist with virtually all of Finland’s orchestras, including the Helsinki Philharmonic and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with conductors such as Klaus Mäkelä, Susanna Mälkki and Sakari Oramo. He is the artistic director of the Kamarikesä chamber music festival in Helsinki — which Aulaseriene last year began collaboration with — and for the concert series KAIKU at the Finnish Institute in Paris. Tanner holds master's degrees from the Manhattan School of Music in the USA and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
We wish you an enjoyable, unique concert experience with us. Welcome!
