The new place for chamber music.

In August 2020, our new, nation-wide platform for unique chamber music experiences was launched.

Throughout the year we invite you to performances with top-class musicians, performed in renowned venues where this music truly belongs: in the Oslo and Bergen University Aulas, at the Edvard Munch-destination Ramme in Hvitsten and now also in Bergen's historic Håkonshallen.

We aim to elevate our concerts to cross-art experiences, where both architecture, space, and visual art complement the music — and vice versa. The combination of art and music creates a unique setting for both performers and audience. The University Aula in Oslo, decorated with wall paintings by Edvard Munch, bridge the art forms naturally, whilst the Aula Room at Ramme is a down-scaled version of the same Aula, featuring a variety of art exhibitions through the seasons. The  University Aula in Bergen is one of the country's finest and newest chamber music halls, with excellent acoustics on a par with the Aulas in Oslo and Ramme.

Aulaseriene's annual season programmes are based on specific themes or words that form the basis for greater reflection in the experience of the arts. Main works from the chamber music repertoire are juxtaposed with newly written works that explore, take us further and put the heritage of classical music into perspective. Topics across art, music and current affairs are occasionally conveyed from stage, both by musicians and acknowledged speakers from social and cultural life. Our events shall inspire and engage.

Collaborations between established artists and young performers is a source of great energy and excitement. We look forward to presenting the country's leading chamber musicians in combination with international artists and performers who are at the beginning of their careers.

Our gratitude goes to our important main supporters: Shipowner Tom Wilhelmsen's Foundation, the Ramme Foundation for Arts, Culture and Nature and the Norwegian Savings Bank Foundation. Thanks also to our other private and public supporters who all contribute to making our national visions for chamber music possible.
