In 2025, Aulaseriene will launch its first targeted and dedicated program initiative focusing on young Nordic performers on the verge of international careers.
Ever since 2020, Aulaseriene with essential support from, among others, the Norwegian Bank Savings Foundation, has created a platform for young performers in its seasonal programs. Now, this initiative is given a structural boost through a dedicated Debut Series — with performances several times a year featuring some of tomorrow's most promising and interesting performers across the Nordic region.
Relevance and topicality. In 2025, the new Debut Series will be piloted with a handful of concerts in Bergen, Oslo and at Ramme.
— One of the most important things in this new initiative is working closely with the musicians over time. Tomorrow's performers cannot only be instrumentally skilled, they must be able to contribute to developing the classical genre through an authentic communication that shows excitement and relevancy to audiences that are also developing, says Artistic Director Thormod Rønning Kvam.
— I believe a good way to achieve this is through the exchange of ideas and challenges, creating an artistic drive between today's established names and those who will carry the legacy of classical music into the future, continues Rønning Kvam.
Partners make the initiative possible. In addition to the aforementioned Norwegian Savings Bank Foundation, Ambassador and Main Contributor Shipowner Tom Wilhelmsen's Foundation and Anders Sveaas' Almennyttige Fond are essential contributors to this new initiative.
— Through large, joint collaborations where several partners move in the same direction, real change is created over time. The Debut Series will also be developed in close collaboration with Talent Norge, which has worked structurally across genres and expressions for the past ten years. Here lies a foundation of experience that will have significant transfer value for a purely classical dissemination and concert initiative such as Aulaseriene, says Rønning Kvam.
The opening of the Debut Series will take place on Saturday, February 15th at Ramme and February 23rd in University Aula in Oslo, and later in University Aula in Bergen. More concerts will be launched continuously throughout the year. Feel free to sign up for our newsletter to receive program news directly in your inbox!
