In 2024, we will celebrate our fifth annual season as an organizer of world-class Chamber Music — a motto we uphold with humble pride. The anniversary is marked by one of our biggest milestones to date: the establishment of a completely new concert initiative in University Aula in Bergen . With this, we live Aulaseriene increasingly closer to its purpose: To contribute to a national boost for chamber music.
The seasonal theme for 2024 is Longing . Romance, desire, loss — and perhaps especially complicated love — have almost always given rise to great art. The intimate chamber format provides unprecedented opportunities for musicians and composers to get close to emotions… perhaps sometimes even in a literal sense? Throughout the 2024 concert year, we have explored this theme for the first time, with a main emphasis on Viennese Classical and Romantic composers — interspersed with music from our own time that can create contrast to, and at the same time complement, the great emotions from the 17th and 19th centuries.
There will be many highlights. We are particularly proud to launch a multi-year collaboration with the TrondheimSolistene , which will be our first ensemble in residence in 2024 and 2025. The launch of the collaboration will be on March 17th in University Aula in Oslo, with guest soloist Ragnhild Hemsing in the program PEER GYNT. Last but not least, we will also mark the 100th anniversary of Arne Garborg's passing with a large concert performance dedicated to Haugtussa — with the legendary Ola B. Johannessen as an actor and Eir Inderhaug to sing Grieg's tunes. It's important to secure your tickets quickly!
