Season opening: TrondheimSolistene & Gjermund Larsen

  • University Aula Karl Johans gate 47 0162 Oslo Norway (map)

— Folkloric impulses meet Nordic classics.

It is with great pride that we welcome to a new concert year none other than the Trondheim Soloists — our exclusive ensemble in residence. With them is fiddler and composer Gjermund Larsen , who for many years has distinguished himself as one of the country's most sought-after folk musicians.

This New Year's concert also opens our sixth concert season, where we will explore the theme of Impulses throughout the year. Welcome to an evening where Nordic classics meet atmospheric settings with folk music roots — and happy new concert year!

Slashes and improvisations with Gjermund Larsen

  • For a number of years, the TrondheimSolistene and Gjermund Larsen have had a musical collaboration that has garnered praise and recognition both nationally and internationally. The interaction at the intersection of folk and classical music has resulted in dozens of concerts and several album releases, but it has been many years since the "duo" played in Oslo. Now they are ready for Aulaseriene ! The Trondheim Soloists also bring a selection of folk music-inspired works from Finland, the USA and Norway, carefully selected for this concert.

Welcome to a unique musical experience!
